Quality Assurance Policy

Quality is not inspected into our drawings at the end. It is built into the process from the start.

Policy Statement

Forma Studio operates a formal Quality Assurance framework that governs the production, review, and issue of all design documentation. We believe that the standard of our drawings and reports is a direct reflection of the standard of our professional practice. Every document issued under our name is a representation of our quality commitment to the client, the contractor, and the regulatory authority.

Our Quality Framework

Document Control

All drawings and documents are managed under a formal document control system. Every issue is version-controlled, date-stamped, and logged against a drawing register. Superseded documents are formally withdrawn from circulation. Contractors receive only the current issued revision.

Design Review

All drawings undergo a two-stage internal review process before issue. Stage one is a technical accuracy review — dimensions, coordination, regulatory compliance, and completeness. Stage two is a quality review — clarity of communication, consistency of presentation, and fitness for the intended purpose of the document.

Coordination Protocol

All architectural drawings are cross-referenced against structural and MEP consultant drawings before any issue to contractor or authority. Coordination conflicts are resolved and documented before the drawing set is issued. We do not issue drawings we have not coordinated.

Authority Submission Quality

All authority submission packages are reviewed against the specific requirements of the relevant municipal or regulatory body before submission. Our target is first-pass approval on every submission. Where observations are received, we respond within the timeframe specified by the authority without exception.

Client Communication

All design decisions that affect programme, cost, or brief compliance are documented in writing and confirmed with the client before implementation. We do not make design changes without a written record of the decision and the client's acknowledgement.

Applicable Standards

ISO 9001 Quality Management System guidance. RIBA Plan of Work stage deliverables reference. Local professional registration body standards across all operating jurisdictions.
